Habib Ibn Mazahir was born on 13 Rabi al-Thani 5 AH in Medina.

Mr. Habib's father-in-law Mr. Mazahir was highly respected in the eyes of the Holy Prophet. The Holy Prophet never gave up his invitation. Given Mr. Habib, who was very young at that time, came to know about the invitation of the Holy Prophet.He asked his father to invite Imam Hussain (as) to the party.
Mr. Mazahir also invited Imam Hussain (as). Mr. Habib was very happy to hear this. Then when the time for invitation came, Habib Ibn Mazahir started waiting for Imam Hussain (as) on the roof of the house with great enthusiasm They were anxious to see him and in the same uneasiness they fell from the roof and passed through the world. When he did not come to the table, Imam Hussain (as) asked, "Where is Habib?"
His father tried to hide it at first, but in the end he had to tell. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and Imam Hussain (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) were very upset when they heard this. God Almighty will accept your prayer. So he prayed and God revived Mr. Habib.
He was a childhood friend of Imam Hussain (as). He had the privilege of being the companions of the Holy Prophet (saw). He was also one of the companions of Imam Ali (as). Imam Hussain (as) left for Karbala, stopped at a place and wrote a letter to Habib Ibn Mazahir.
And this letter was conveyed to Mr. Habib by courier. Mr. Habib read this letter as soon as he read it. He intended to travel but he did not want Ibn Ziad to know about it. Habib left secretly. The news of Habib's arrival reached the tents. Zainab (peace be upon him) asked, "Who is this?" The answer was "Habib Ibn Mazahir". Hearing this, Zainab (peace be upon him) sent a maid and said, "Say hello to Habib on my behalf." That this time also my daughter Ali greets us.
He took the opportunity to fight. He took to the field with the permission of jihad and engaged in battle.
Historians say that Badil Ibn Hareem put a sword on him, a man from Bani Tamim hit him with a spear and Husain bin Namir put a sword on his head and he fell from his horse and at the same time a Tamimi cut off his head.

جناب حبیب ابن مظاہر بروایت 13 ربیع الثانی 5 ہجری کو مدینہ منورہ میں پیدا ہوئے۔
آپ کے القاب میں فاضل،قاری،حافظ اور فقیہ بہت زیادہ مشہور ہے۔
جناب حبیبؑ کے پدربزرگوار جناب مظاہرؑ حضرت رسول کریم کی نگاہ میں بڑی عزّت رکھتے تھے۔رسول انکی دعوت کو کبھی ترک نہیں کرتے تھے،ایک دن کا ذکر ہے کہ انھوں نے سرکاردوعال کو اپنے گھر دعوت کیلئے بولایا۔انہوں نے دعوت کا انتظام شروع کر دیا۔ جناب حبیبؑ جو اس وقت کم سن تھے ان کو رسول کریم کی دعوت کی خبر معلوم ہوئی۔انہوں نے اپنے والد سے کہا کہ اس دعوت میں امام حسین علیہ السلام کو بھی بلائیں۔
جناب مظاہرؑ نے امام حسین علیہ السلام کو بھی دعوت دی یہ سن کر جناب حبیبؑ بہت خوش ہوئے پھر جب دعوت کا وقت آیا تو حبیب ابن مظاہر کمال جوش و خروش میں گھر کی چھت پر امام حسین علیہ السلام کا انتظار کرنا شروع کیا اور ان کے دیدار کی لئے بے چین تھے اور اسی اضطراب و بیچینی میں چھت سے گر کر دنیا سے گزر گئے۔مظاہر نے لاش کو پوشیدہ کر دیا تاکہ مہمان کو محسوس نہ ہو اور مہمان نوازی ٹھیک طرح سے ہو جائے۔جب دسترخوان بچھایا گیا اور جناب حبیبؑ دسترخوان پر نہ آئے تو امام حسین علیہ السلام نے پوچھا حبیبؑ کہاں ہیں؟
ان کے والد نے پہلے تو چھپانے کی کوشش کی،لیکن بالآخر بتانا پڑا،یہ سن کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم اور امام حسین علیہ السلام بہت رنجیدہ ہوئے۔اس کے بعد سرکار دو عالم نے فرمایا کہ بیٹا حسینؑ دعا کرو ،خداوندعالم تمہاری دعا قبول کرے گا۔چنانچہ انہوں نے دعا کی اور خدا نے جناب حبیبؑ کو دوبارہ زندگی دے دی۔
آپ امام حسین علیہ السلام کے بچپن کے دوست تھے۔آپ کو رسالت مآب کے اصحاب ہونے کا شرف حاصل تھا ۔آپ اصحاب امام علی علیہ السلام میں بھی تھے۔آپ ہر اس جنگ میں امام علی علیہ السلام کے ساتھ سے جو آنحضرت کے بعد رونما ہوئی۔امام حسین علیہ السلام سفر کربلا کو نکلے ایک مقام پر ٹھہر کر جناب حبیبؑ ابن مظاہر کو خط لکھا۔۔اور یہ خط قاصد کے ذریعہ جناب حبیبؑ تک پہونچوایا۔جناب حبیبؑ نے جیسے ہی اس خط کو پڑھا۔ سفر کا ارادہ کیا مگر وہ چاہتے تھے کہ ابن زیاد کو اس کی خبر نہ ہو۔حبیب خوفیہ راستے سے روانہ ہوئے ۔جناب حبیبؑ کے آنے کی خبر خیموں میں پہنچی۔ جناب زینب سلام اللہ علیہا نے دریافت کیا یہ کون آیا ہے؟ جواب ملا "حبیبؑ ابن مظاہر" یہ سن کر جناب زینب سلام اللہ علیہا نے خادمہ کو بھیجا اور کہا کہ میری طرف سے حبیبؑ کو سلام کہہ دو۔حبیبؑ نے اس بےپناہ عزت کو دیکھکر اپنے منھ پر تمانچے مارے اور سر پر خاک ڈالی اور کہا کہ میرا بھی یہ مرتبہ کہ دختر علیؑ ہمیں سلام کہیں۔
آپ نے موقع جنگ کارنمایا کئے تھے۔آپ اذن جہاد لے میدان میں نکلے اور جنگ میں مصروف ہو گئے۔اور بے مثال جنگ کی یہاں تک کہ باسٹھ دشمنوں کو قتل کر دیا
مورخین کا کہنا ہے کہ بدیل ابن حریم نے آپ پر تلوار لگائی،بنی تمیم کے ایک شخص نے نیزہ مارا اور حصین بن نمیر نے سر پر تلوار لگائی اور آپ گھوڑے سے گر پڑے اور اسی وقت ایک تمیمی نے سر سرکاٹ لیا۔

آپ کربلا میں بہت ضعیف تھے ۔کمر جھکی ہوئی تھی بھویں لٹکی ہوئی تھی۔مگر بچپنےمیں جب سنتے تھے کہ میرا حسین علیہ السلام شہید ہوگا تو کہتے تھے کہ وہ وقت آئے کہ میں بھی حسین علیہ السلام پر اپنی جان قربان کر دوں۔وہ وقت آ گیا قمرکو باندھا پاوں کو رومال سے باندھا امام حسین علیہ السلام سے اجازت لی اور حیرت انگیز جنگ کی اور مولا پر اپنی جان قربان کر دی۔

آپ کا پورا نام عبد الرحمن عروة ابن حرّاق غفاری تھا۔آپ کوفہ کے شرفاء میں سے تھے۔آپ نہایت شجاع اور بڑے بہادر تھے۔ان کے دادا حرّاق اصحاب امام علی علیہ السلام میں سے تھے۔انھوں نے جنگ حمل و صفین و نہروان میں امام علی علیہ السلام کے ساتھ جنگ کی تھی۔کربلا میں امام حسین علیہ السلام کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے۔جب آپ کو یقین ہوگیا کہ امام حسین علیہ السلام سے صلح نہ ہو سکے گی تو آپ میدان میں آئے اور نہایت دلیری سے لڑ کر درجہ شہادت حاصل کر لیا۔
